What is a SWRF Flanges?

A flange that is welded outside of a pipe and intended to slide over it is called a SORF flange. These flanges are widely utilised across several industries and are renowned for their robustness and longevity. Additionally, they come in several varieties including spiral double jacketed, flat face, and ring style. Using SORF flanges also has some advantages, such as the flexibility to utilise different types of gaskets.

Typically, carbon steel and stainless steel are used to make these flanges. Flanges made of carbon steel are quite prevalent, especially in the oil and gas sector. Though carbon steel is less expensive than other metals, it is not as resistant to corrosion. For this reason, duplex and super duplex steel alloys are used to construct a large number of slip-on raised face flanges.

The most common style of slip-on flange is raised face. The lip or face of this flange is approximately 1/16 inch tall. In addition, the face is recessed to a level below the base of the flange. Because of the elevated face, a gasket can be used to seal the flange. Conversely, a flat face flange is not elevated and does not have a lip.
